The Running Shoes in My Current Rotation

Running shoes can be expensive, especially with brands releasing more and more limited edition colors that I need to buy. To keep my shoes lasting longer, I rotate my shoes. I have different shoes for every type of run to help with my performance and speed. Rotating shoes can also help prevent injury. I started running in Brooks running shoes in college and have stuck with them since, even running my first marathon in a pair!

The Ghost were my first pair of Brooks shoes about 6 years ago. I love how the Ghost is light, yet cushioning and supportive. I use these for long run because those runs I need a little bit more support than my normal days. I also use them for recovery runs, when my legs and feet need a bit more cushioning and love.

Brooks Launch

normal runs

In college, these shoes were for my normal run days, when we tended to run a bit faster than long run and morning runs (on two-a-days). I still use the Launch for my normal runs and will sometimes us them if I want to throw down a faster long run.

Brooks Hyperion

track days

Track Tuesday, need I say more? The Hyperion were my go-to shoe for track workouts in college. I also used them for cross country workouts in the grass and on the dirt road when we did tempos, fartleks, or hill workouts. I still use these shoes, but reserve them for the track. These are lightweight like a track spike, but without the spikes.

Brooks Hyperion Tempo

fast days

I love the OG Hyperion, so I was very excited when Brooks came out with the Tempos. Like the OG Hyperion, the Tempos are lightweight, but have more cushion and can handle longer distances. I’ve been using these fast shoes for tempos, fartleks, and any longer road workouts.

As you can see, designating the proper shoe for specific runs is important for getting the most out of your run. Whether it’s a more stable shoes for long run, or a lightweight shoe for workouts, I can focus on the run and not worry about what’s going on underneath me.
